I was over the moon when this product found it’s way to me this week. I am a huge fan of The Irish Fairy Door Company as it is, but this has completely blown my mind. The worry plaque is truly one of the best ideas I have heard about in a long time. Anything that strives to take a child’s worries away is worthy of support. The idea behind it is just beautiful.
I first came across the worry plaque when I tuned in to one of The Irish Fairy Door Company’s Facebook Live sessions. I just adore these. Facebook tells you when someone is “live” and I find myself always tuning in to watch these guys. Their Facebook live sessions feature real life fairies who talk about their adventures. It is an exciting and captivating experience and people from all over the world tune in. I love reading the comments from America & Australia. You can’t help but be proud when an Irish company has this kind of reach. It is a great success story.
The Irish Fairy Door Company are most famous for their, well, Irish Fairy Doors. Visually beautiful little doors which open our children’s imaginations and house the little fairies that live in their playrooms, bedrooms and schools. It’s a gorgeous product. The little accessories and details are beyond adorable. During one particular Facebook Live session we were introduced to their next product – The Worry Plaque. A real life fairy demonstrated the plaque and I immediately felt good vibes about it.
So how does it work? Firstly it’s very attractive to the eye. It resembles a rustic bark of wood and is a lovely neutral colour. For the interior enthusiasts it will look very well in pretty much any room. On the actual plaque there is a beautiful quote which perfectly describes the product
” A fairy’s magic, changes red to green, gone are your worries, never to be seen ”
The idea is that the plaque is placed upon a wall of your home, somewhere accessible to your child’s height. When your child is worried or anxious about something they place their hands upon the worry plaque and press against it. The hand symbol will turn red. After a few seconds the hand will then turn green. This is where the magic happens. When the hand symbol turns green it means that the fairies have taken away your child’s worry. Not only this, but they have turned the worry in to positive energy which grants a wish for another boy or girl around the world. Isn’t that just gorgeous?
I arrived at my four year old cousin’s house last night with a worry plaque and I wish I had recorded her reaction. She was beaming from ear to ear. She had seen the product on the Late Late Toy Show and it was a real case of the fairies had heard her wishing for one at the time. I told her that the fairies had left it for her in my house. It was so adorable to see her excitement. We powered it up with 3 AA batteries and put it to the test. We did it over and over again and she was just over the moon.
